IBA HOIL Brochure/Poster
Indigenous Business Australia (IBA) works closely with the private sector and local community groups to foster economic independence and home ownership among Indigenous Australians. We designed and illustrated this brochure/poster to help promote IBA’s Home Ownership on Indigenous Land Program (HOIL).

We developed a 4 page DL brochure that opens out to an A3 poster on the reverse side – providing the flexibility of having a brochure to leave with people, and a poster that can be hung in community areas.

Mezzanine Wine
Wine wholesaler Mezzanine Wine Distribution first commissioned us to design its annual Pricelist in 2001. At this time most wine portfolios consisted of basic, functional listings of prices in table-style formats, with little regard for presenting the information in a contemporary and visual way.
Our design of the 2001 Pricelist attracted widespread attention within the industry. It’s emphasis on a strong visual style and a ‘zine’ style approach successfully created a contemporary image for Mezzanine, and spawned several copycat designs.
‘The Mezzanine pricelist is a functional, approachable and evolved portfolio price list that shows a greater utility and visual impact than a large proportion in the industry. In the trade, it is seen as the frontrunner of contemporary “zine style” price list.’
(Mike Bennie, freelance writer for several wine industry publications and General Manager of’ Best Cellars’, a premium wine store in Sydney)
Since 2001 Mezzanine has grown from a Victorian based entity employing just one person, to a national company employing 40 sales and administration staff across Australia. Mezzanine’s annual turnover has nearly doubled every year with the results that today the company is among the top three boutique wholesalers of wines in Australia. Much of this growth can be attributed to the success of the pricelist, as this is the only marketing tool used by the company. Over 5000 businesses across Australia now use the pricelist on a day-to-day basis.

Dangerfield Winter Catalogue
We produced this fold-out catalogue / brochure for youth clothing label Dangerfield in 2001. This included design, typesetting and photographic art direction. Photography is by the inimitable Robert Earp.

The Rage in Placid Lake
Palace Films commissioned us to do the movie posters, DVD cover and advertising material (including fliers, street posters, magazine and press ads, internet banner ads and promotional badges) for this Australian comedy starring Rose Burn and Ben Lee. We also produced a series of cartoon strips that were run in street press as a lead up to the film’s release.

SEEK promotion – ‘Stuck in the Times’
This humorous newspaper spoof – full of both real and invented stories and advertisements from 1906 – was developed to highlight just how archaic newspaper advertising for jobs in has become since the internet revolution. We produced different versions of these newspapers for key cities, including Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane, Auckland and Wellington. The successful campaign was developed together with writer Andrew Pegler.
